Turtles All The Way Down: Vaccine Science and Myth

Rate this book
If you are reading this, you are probably aware of the fierce debate surrounding vaccination and looking for information that will allow you to make the best decisions for yourself and your loved ones. Whether you are a parent or a parent to be, sorting through the many arguments on vaccines can be daunting. Still, you need an answer, a definitive one, to the crucial Who has it right in the great vaccine debate – the critics, who claim that vaccines often cause serious harm, or the medical establishment, which tells us that vaccines are safe and effective and the science is settled?

Rest assured, you have come to the right place. Turtles All the Way Vaccine Science and Myth will resolve the vaccine question for you, once and for all. By the time you finish reading, not only will you see the answer clearly for yourself, you will also have the scientific references and specific quotes at your disposal that prove it – more than 1,200 of them – all from mainstream scientific papers and textbooks, the official publications of relevant government agencies, or manufacturers’ documents.

The book consolidates a great deal of information (accompanied by detailed analysis) that is scattered in hundreds of medical articles, books, and websites. All discussion is presented in clear and easy-to-understand language, so no medical education is required. It presents several original concepts in addition to laying a robust scientific foundation for the more established ones.

Some of the fundamental vaccine safety issues covered in the book is safety demonstrated before a new vaccine is licensed? What technique do vaccine manufacturers use in clinical trials to make vaccines appear safer than they actually are? What “last ditch” technique is employed when the above one cannot be, and what are its grave (and damning) ethical implications? What is the scientific foundation of the safety of vaccination, and what practical tools does this body of science provide physicians to anticipate, diagnose, and treat vaccine injury? What fundamental flaws are built into vaccine adverse events reporting systems, and how are these systems used (or misused) by health authorities to support their safety claims? What kinds of post-marketing vaccine studies are conducted, and how can they be manipulated by researchers to produce “favorable” outcomes? Why would researchers want to skew vaccine research, and how could skewed results be promulgated by the scientific community? Why would medical journals publish faulty vaccine science? What is the role of the famed “peer review” in this process? What are “the studies that will never be done” by the medical establishment and how long it has resisted doing them? ( more than 100 years!)What key CDC-recommended childhood vaccination guidelines were arbitrarily set, without an adequate scientific basis?
In addition, three cornerstones of vaccination lore are covered in is herd immunity, and how does it apply (or not) to the vaccines on the childhood schedule? What role did vaccines actually play in the historical decline of infectious disease? Was the paralysis associated with polio actually caused by the poliovirus? Is there a better explanation for the great paralysis epidemics of the 20th century? What are the “19 polio mysteries”?
The book is intended for parents overwhelmed by conflicting messaging on this important topic, but it is also an excellent reference for medical researchers and professionals who seek a better unders

An absolutely devastating takedown of the vaccine industry, especially coming on the heels of the 'safe and effective' covid shots, which are actually neither. This book was published in 2019 but just recently translated into English. None of the facts stated have been refuted by anyone in the vaccine industry.

Did you know there has never been one completely randomized control trial done with ANY of the vaccines on the market to test for safety? Not one. So efficacy aside, there is literally NO science to back up the claim that any vaccine is safe for infants, small children, or adults.
Did you know that only a small handful of the current 'required' vaccines confer any kind of herd immunity? About 70% of them possibly provide some personal protection for the recipient, but most of the target diseases are mild anyway and easily survivable, thus completely negating any kind of societal need for mass vaccination.
Did you know that the Salk and Sabin polio shots had a negligible effect on the reduction of polio cases, and in fact, there's a vast amount of evidence that points to pesticide poisoning as the cause of the paralysis heretofore attributed to polio?
Did you know that chronic conditions in children have EXPLODED in the last 60 years or so, since vaccines have been pushed on an unsuspecting public, with no honest attempt to explain or stop the explosion? Every doctor/researcher who has even tried to examine this has been discredited, blackballed, and had their studies suppressed. Government and Big Pharma fund virtually ALL scientific research and they have zero incentive to find anything negative in the vaccine program.

Run, don't walk, from anyone trying to inject your defenseless baby with any of the vaccines. The risk/benefit analysis comes down squarely on the side of not vaxxing. Do your research; do NOT listen to the pediatrician who has no training in this field. Ask the questions that are suggested in this book and see what kind of response you get.

I am convinced that my youngest child, 16 years his eldest sibling's junior, and recipient of almost 2X as many shots in infancy and early childhood, has a chronic skin condition and some minor developmental delays as a result of the aluminum, mercury, thimerisol, and other toxic poisons in the myriad shots I was ignorant enough to allow him to receive. I thank God for the fact that this is ALL he's suffering from and that he's not irredeemably harmed.

It's too late for a lot of kids, but maybe this book can educate the next generation of parents, and they can save their kids from a lifetime of illness and vaccine induced misery.

Edited to add: this was written by 'anonymous' so that the authors couldn't be destroyed by ad hominem attacks, but rather, their conclusions would have to be actually looked at and refuted. To date they have not been.

It is clear that this was thoughtfully put together, and that there were likely multiple contributors. Reading through the text I could tell there was probably a bit of debate over every point and which studies were relevant and which studies should be included/excluded and the value of each source.

The format will be familiar to the philosophers out there:

Hypothesis, Best Arguments for, Best counter arguments against, Rebuttal of the counter arguments, Conclusion.

The beauty of this work, and how you can tell someone has not read the book, is by checking the citations. It's not the the writers word against one side of the medical community, it uses the statements/studies/actions of the proponents in coming to conclusions. Essentially it's the integrator approach of, It's not my word against yours, its your words against you.

It invites you to engage the actual literature, methodology, and narrative. It makes you dig into the studies, if you disagree, read the studies and refute. But, you wont get away with a statement such as "this was settled long ago."

This is not a short read, probably 500pages. If you get the kindle version you need to download the reference sheet.

Challenge your presuppositions and read the work. You don't have to agree with the conclusions but I guarantee you will learn something you did not know.

The book is an indictment on vaccines: the falsity of their use and hiding of their harm.  The long section on Polio, written like a mystery novel, could have been a book in itself:

Why did Polio epidemics emerge in the USA in the late 19th C?

Why didn't polio appear in developing countlies until the second half of the 20th C?

Why did polio epidemics strike industrilized countries in the 20th C and none the developing world?

Why did polio hit hardest in summer and early autumn?

Why did outbreaks occur in mostly sparsely populated areas?

Why were those outbreaks concurrent with paralysisi in domestic animals?

Why did polio emerge when mortality of most infectious diseases dramatically declined?

Why were high polio rates observed in Europeans in developing countries but not locals?

Why was polio higher in Western soldiers overseas but not at home?

Why was polio in officers ten times that of enlisted men?

Why were polio's disease patterns so different from other childhood infectious diseses?

Why did polio skyrocket in industrilized countries after WWII?

Why did polio epidemics occur in consecutive years rather than every few years as in the pre-war period?

Why did members of a household contract polio at the same time rather than one after each other?

The authors provide a viable explanation to these questions and points out it wasn't investigated because it meant the vaccine wasn't useful (perhaps even harmful).  "The medical establishment has no interest whatsoever in reopening the closed file - or perhaps more aptly the Pandora's Box of Polio." (Page 495)

Other points/takes

· Not a single vaccine on the US CDG recommended childhood schedule has been tested against a true placebo.

· the use of this intentionally flawed trial methodology means that every vaccine on the schedule received FDA approval without a true measurement of its adverse events.

· Lack of scientific evidence makes it impossible to quantify the overall benefit (positive or negative) of the chlidhood vaccination program.

· The establishment refuses to conduct vaccinated vs unvaccinated studies, though these studies could pntentially reveal important clues regarding dramatic rise of chronic diesease in recent decades.

· Some of the vaccine combinations given routinely have never been tested for safety (for example 9 injections against 13 disease at 15 months).

· Nearly all the drop in infectious disease mortality in industrialized countries was recorded before the 1930s (before vaccines began to be used.  The authors attribute this to better nutrition, sanitation and hygiene.

· Vaccines contributed only marginally to the drastic reduction in mortality.  See graphs pages 275-283.

· At the same time that intimidating infectious diseases were gradually disappearing, chronic disease began to rise.

· Presently social costs for the "silent epidemic" of chronic disease far exceed those of infectious disease.

· Of the 14 vaccines on the CDC recommended childhood vaccine schedule only five clear the herd immunity bar.  The remaining nine either are either unable to generate herd immunity or the protfotion is either partial or inconsequential.

· the assertation that vaccines' benefits outweigh their harms is not supported by solid scientific evidence.

· The scientific story that polio presents a samblance of worthy theory is full of holes, speculations, contradictions and mysteries.

When public debates gained traction "The entire vaccination construction was suddenly in serious jeopardy of being exposed as the giant fraud it is." (Page 512)

Best book on vaccines

I have studied vaccines as "hobby" from the mid 1970's being a lay person whose education and professional work touched on related fields that helped me understand: anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, followed by data science. This book is by far the best clearly stated and referenced assessment of the vaccine industry. You can dive as deep as you want. This book should be mandatory reading for every public health bureaucrat, every medical doctor, every politician. Of course every parent, literally every person, should read and know this.

Arguably the best book on vaccine science ever written. It’s a must-read for every person with a body who cares about their health and the ability to make decisions about what goes into their body. If you had opinions on either side of the “I believe in science” debate, this is an important read because science is never settled.

How naked is the vain Emperor of Vaccine Science? Turtles lays out the statistics and motivators behind a rather unclothed industry.

If you’ve received a lifetime of vaccines presented for your health promoted by an industry that depends on selling their vaccines over individual or aggregate health, you cannot read Turtles without becoming pissed.

What harm was done to us over decades in the name of “better health for all” while it was “wealth for a few” that comes out on top?

Hard spoiler - the book was written before our Covid Vaccine adventure ever started, so reader be prepared to learn how many of the common vaccines you were given and were pushed to give your children are far less tested, lack true safety studies, and have questionable to little benefit.

Useful. This book was recommended to me by my pediatrician, and satisfied my scientific side in the presentation of information. I would be totally happy to give the book to any medical professional and ask them to engage with the info — from a nurse to a Immunology PhD. (and I do know one of the latter). As a result of reading this I will never really be an “anti-vaxxer”, but neither will I do the CDC recommend standard schedule.

Useful. Read it.

Vaccine science is by no means a done deal. In fact, what we are told is more of a fraud than you would think and this book provides unequivocal proof. If I could give this book 100 stars, I would. Does that mean vaccines don’t work or are not worthy? No, not at all. The science shows that some do and some don't. What this book proves is that safety studies have not been done, are actively being avoided, we are being lied to, manipulated and experimented on. It is important to read this book so that we all have informed consent and demand better. More on that below.

Everyone should read this book. Here are a few shocking takeaways :
Clinical trials are not done with true placebos. In fact, all of the vaccines on the CDC childhood vaccine schedule were trialed against a similar vaccine and not a saline or sugar solution. Why would they do that? So that they can give the placebo group an agent that they know will cause similar side effects and then report that the new vaccine showed “no increase risk” of side effects. (This is not true of the original Covid vaccines, which did appear to have true saline placebo groups. The Covid vaccine is not covered in this book.)

Infectious diseases declined by 90-95% in society before the advent of vaccines. Why? Mostly due to sanitation and nutrition in developed societies. Health experts know this and they know that vaccines can only account for about 5% reduction in infectious diseases and yet they push the “vaccines eradicated many diseases” line. The data since 1900 simply does not support that.

Not all vaccines cause herd immunity. In fact, they can’t. Some vaccines only neutralise a single person’s response to a virus and do not prevent carrying it. That means that the whole “vaccinate your kid to protect mine” line only holds true for some vaccines and not all so many vaccine mandates are unethical.

There have NOT been studies of the cumulative effect of the current vaccine schedule. And there won’t be any time soon unless we demand it. There is a reason that health authorities spend time and money studying “parental vaccine attitudes” and not actual cumulative vaccine safety. This means that they cannot help children who are harmed because they won’t study it. This also means that they will not consider a less aggressive schedule. This also means that the public does not have informed consent because we are told that all vaccines and the current vaccine schedule is safe even though it has never been studied.

Childhood infectious diseases are on the decline but childhood chronic diseases are on the rise.

Studies comparing vaccinated children’s overall health have not been done, even though they could be quite easily. There is a purposeful reason for this and health authorities regularly provide excuses not to.

The chapter on polio plays out like a mystery novel! It is Jaw. Dropping. Polio is the poster child for vaccine success but there are still a million holes in what we know about polio. In fact, polio has never been proven to be infectious at all! Researchers have never been able to prove this! A more plausible explanation is that it is a reaction to lead and arsenic-based pesticides. This explains why outbreaks occur in late summer in farming communities and in U.S. and U.K. soldiers who travel abroad and were heavily sprayed with pesticides, even though the soldiers never spread the outbreak to the local populations. It also explains why the polio virus does not appear in 20% of stool samples of people who had “polio” and why even in places that vaccine against polio, a mysterious paralysis condition is still on the rise! This chapter alone could have been a book by itself.

When my children were babies, I decided not to give them multiple vaccines in a single visit because I was concerned about the exposure to aluminum. Gosh am I glad that I did that! Vaccine groupings are simply not tested. If I had it to do over, I would still give them certain vaccines such as tetanus and diphtheria, but I would definitely not have given them Hepatitis B, polio or pneumococcal.

The Covid vaccine brought up so many questions about vaccines and this book, even though it does not address the Covid vaccine, addresses many of them just brilliantly. The science behind vaccines is a sham and we are unwitting lab rats.

But we can do something about this:
Demand the requirement for true placebo trials of all new phamaceuticals be codified into federal law.
Eliminate all emergency use authorisation of new pharmaceuticals.
Require mandatory adverse events reporting from vaccines from all medical parties, in the same way that infectious disease outbreaks are required to be reported.
Demand vaccinated versus unvaccinated studies.
Demand research of the current vaccine schedule.
Repeal vaccine requirements for non-herd immunity inducing vaccines.

It is worth noting that politicians have tried this with little success. Read this book and do your part to make your own demands about vaccine safety!

some food for thought in this book for sure. i think the authors main criticism was less about vaccines and more about vaccine manufacturing and policy, as well as criticisms about shaky science (which, if you’re in science or research, you are fully aware that science is not as pure as you once believed it was - that is to say, it is equally as replete with corruption as corporations and government agencies are). the author does also admit that many vaccines were paramount in the reduction of prevalence, morbidity, and mortality of some infectious diseases that used to plague humanity. that being said, vaccines are a billion dollar industry, after all… and wherever there is money, there is corruption, so it is not unreasonable to admit that vaccine science (alongside all medical research) can be subject to high amounts of bias, bribery, and corruption. vaccines may be a great case of “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”. I also do appreciate that this book was NOT conspiracy QAnon stuff, like don’t vaccinate your children and vaccines cause autism and they’re poisoning us!!!!! it was very middle ground, laced with very valid concerns that people SHOULD be allowed to voice about science and about something that affects us all

the 3 things that are sticking with me the most are:
1) that no vaccine has EVER been tested against a true placebo group, whether that be at the clinical stage or in the retrospective epidemiological stage, which is a huge pitfall and red flag
2) of the 9 vaccines given to children, only 5 of them actually provide herd immunity. granted, those 5 are some with the highest contagion profiles and the highest lethality, but it does make you think
3) we know nothing about polio lol, and it follows absolutely no patterns of infectious diseases, and no virus has ever actually been identified, isolated, or replicated in cases of polio. MUCH to reflect on

the book was rather dense (and contained over 1000 references to medical literature), so it wasn’t an easy ready by any means. the author does not in any way attempt to make it palatable for people with a lesser science background, but it was still clear, concise, and very well written

Fascinating book, with so much to get through, that it takes a lot of time to think about and digest the material. Should be read by everyone. Seems like every book I read now, government agencies cover up problems. Just to sum up some of the information from the summary:

- the impact of the vaccine program on children's health has never been examined. No studies have ever examined the ramification of the growing number of vaccines infants receive
- lack of scientific evidence makes it impossible to quantify the overall benefit of the childhood vaccination program. Sweeping institutional claims that vaccine program has a positive effect on the health of the vaccinated is scientifically unfounded. Unvaccinated children are far healthier than their fully vaccinated counterparts.
- misleading myth advanced that our health has never been better - ignores the huge increase in chronic illness in children in recent decades.
- the clinical trials are "cooked; health authorities sponsor biased epidemiological studies conducted by researchers with huge conflicts of interest; studies evaluating the true benefit of vaccinations are never done and neither are studies comparing vaccinated and unvaccinated populations; inconceivable chasm between institutional claims of safety and the reality of vaccine science; While establishment declares the safety of vaccines has been tested and proved excellent, its actions convey a deliberate intention to conceal the true magnitude and severity of their harm.
While they solemnly declare they are doing everything in their power to ensure the safety of vaccines, in practice they are doing anything but, and have deliberately refrained from doing precisely those studies that could clarify vaccines' association with rising rates of chronic illness.

The chapter on polio is captivating.

This is a useful book, but one written by authors who are clearly biased. I read this wanting to learn more about the subject from experts of vaccinology. I learned a lot, and lost yet more faith in several US gov't institutions (no surprise there though, especially when you look at how badly run and corrupt the US food industry is); I had already expected corruption from the pharmaceutical companies, and this book is ripe with examples of their greed and lack of virtue. I digress.

I am a PhD-educated scientist (physics) and was hoping for an unbiased account of the history and science of vaccines. This is not that book. However, if you can keep your discernment close at hand, and shift through the authors' bias, there is solid science here. Worth reading.

So well written, clearly explained and backed up

This is a must read for any parent.
This is the first book that has helped me fully understand, from a scientific, well researched and backed up by evidence standpoint what really goes in with testing and releasing vaccines.
I have been on the fence with vaccines previously but unable to articulate why or find clear data that would help me get more comfortable with vaccination. This book has helped me understand properly the serious issues at the heart of vaccine testing and why vaccines are not safe the way the mainstream establishment say they are.
Cannot recommend this book enough.

I dare you to read this book. Do not let the size of this volume intimidate you. Every doctor who administers any vaccine should be required to read this book. While this book will not end the debate over vaccines, at least let’s start to have honest conversations about facts and not myths. Science is not God and we need to stop treating it as such. Only when families are presented with truth and given facts can they make the decisions that are best for their family. At the very least, given all the information available no vaccine should be required by any government organization.

This is one of several books I've read about the questionable benefits of modern communicable disease vaccines verses the individual risks to those given these vaccines. This book in particular questions the achievable efficacy of vaccines now and historically As well the statements from FDA CDC and Pharmaceutical companies about the individual hazards and the supposed testing of hazards and efficacy by these organization. The proximately describes the lack of Testing of Vaccinated verse Unvaccinated populations to make a clear determination of health effects both positive and negative and especially points out how testing stated to be against Placebo were instead run against a medication standard of care which is also Known/Suspected of causing illness/disease. This book is wonderfully enlightening and Should be read by Anyone Considering Vaccination for themselves or their children. This book also advocates Public Debate of the vaccine issues which it states Will not occur because the Vaccine House of Cards would then fold.

Look and see

This book is excellent. Chock full of important information and compelling arguments. Too bad it exists in an age where a refusal to look is commonplace, for one who does not look will never see. We've never been more studious and intentional in avoiding uncomfortable subjects. Don't be another "look the other wayer." We have more than enough of those.

Turtles All the Way Down: Vaccine Science and Myth is a devastating indictment of the vaccine industry and the unquestioned faith so many place in it. Unlike typical critiques, this book doesn’t rely on emotion or speculation—it dissects the vaccine narrative with clinical precision, using the medical establishment’s own data, peer-reviewed studies, and regulatory documents to dismantle the myths propping up the system.

The authors methodically reveal that the foundational assumption—that vaccines are universally safe and rigorously tested—is simply false. One of the book’s most powerful insights is its exposure of how vaccine trials are designed to avoid showing harm. Most so-called “placebo-controlled” studies don’t use true inert placebos like saline; instead, they use other vaccines or aluminum-containing adjuvants, which already carry risks. This sleight of hand allows adverse reactions to be buried in the data, making vaccines appear safer than they are.

The book also tears down the illusion that vaccines undergo long-term safety testing. Unlike drugs, which often require years of follow-up, many vaccines are approved after mere weeks of observation, with no meaningful evaluation of long-term health outcomes. The authors point out that when vaccines are added to the childhood schedule—often in rapid succession—there are no studies assessing the cumulative effects of these combinations on developing immune systems.

Arguably the most powerful and revealing section of the book centers on a single fact: no large-scale retrospective cohort study has ever been conducted comparing rates of chronic illness in vaccinated vs. completely unvaccinated individuals. Despite widespread chronic conditions in children today—autism, ADHD, asthma, allergies, autoimmune disorders—no government health agency has taken the obvious step of using existing medical data to see whether these rates differ significantly between the vaccinated and unvaccinated.

The book lays out how all of the raw data needed for such studies already exist—within electronic medical records, insurance databases, and national health systems. The authors also dismantle every excuse offered for not doing such research. Claims that such studies would be unethical or impossible are exposed as hypocritical, given that many “almost” equivalent studies have already been done. For example, researchers have frequently conducted retrospective studies on vaccine timing, dose spacing, and individual vaccine formulations. So why not do the full comparison?

The refusal to conduct this study—when it is not only possible, but easy by modern standards—is perhaps the clearest sign that vaccine science is not being driven by truth-seeking, but by fear of what the truth might show.

Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of this book is how little impact it has had on those most firmly entrenched in the pro-vaccine camp. The book presents clear, meticulously documented evidence, yet many who support vaccines reflexively dismiss it—not by engaging with the facts, but by attacking those who question the official narrative. The predictable accusation: that anyone who believes the book is “anti-science,” despite the book’s thorough use of scientific data and regulatory documents.

This reaction is a textbook case of cognitive dissonance. For many in the medical community and general public, vaccine safety is a deeply held belief, reinforced by decades of messaging and institutional authority. To accept the inconvenient truths laid out in Turtles All the Way Down would mean overturning core assumptions, questioning trusted authorities, and facing uncomfortable realities about medical ethics and transparency. The discomfort is so intense that rejecting the evidence altogether becomes easier than revising their worldview.

This is why so many people refuse to believe what they cannot see plainly or what challenges their emotional investment in the “vaccines are safe and necessary” story. They are blinded not by lack of facts, but by what they want to be true. The medical literature, I believe intentionally, has obscured key truths so effectively that the average person—already reliant on trusted experts—simply cannot access the whole picture. This leaves the door wide open for willful blindness and the automatic dismissal of anyone who dares to look behind the curtain.

Turtles All the Way Down forces readers to confront this uncomfortable truth: sometimes the greatest barrier to understanding is not the evidence itself, but the unwillingness to see it.

So the book doesn’t just challenge the science—it confronts the psychology of the pro-vaccine worldview. It exposes how blind trust in public health authorities has replaced critical thinking, how skepticism is vilified instead of valued, and how millions of parents are expected to ignore their intuition and lived experiences in favor of a “settled science” that was never truly settled.

This book is not anti-science; it is anti-corruption. It’s a wake-up call for anyone still clinging to the belief that vaccine policy is built on sound evidence and rigorous oversight. For those willing to look past slogans and examine the facts, this book will change everything. If you can pick it up and read it, it will be the beginning of the end for vaccine dogma

I thought modern vaccines were simply an inactivated virus that prevent you from contracting, and then also transmitting, the virus. Turns out I was VERY WRONG!

I abandoned this book in the first chapter. The tone of the argument put forth was so obviously intended to convince the readers of a theory it said it would prove, but had to do anonymously because of the evil medical profession, I realized it would be a waste of my time to read. I appreciate books that present both sides of an argument showing the supporting evidence behind both arguments. Conspiracy theories bore me.

The title of the book should have been a give away. Although John Green wrote a wonderful book with the same title, the anonymous author of this book probably really does believe the earth is a flat disk supported by turtles all the way down.

Yet another antivax book, this one enthusiastically promoted by longtime antivaccine campaigner Mary Holland who wrote the preface. The book was written in 2019 but has been re-released in hopes of weaponizing distrust of Covid-19 vaccines to weaken support for childhood vaccination in general.

Written by "Anonymous" (now there's a trustworthy source), this book dives into typical antivax conspiracy-mongering by claiming that vaccine clinical studies are "rigged", in part because they supposedly don't include randomized blinded trials.

Anonymous failed to note that there have been many such trials (you can find them by searching the free scientific literature database at PubMed). So why misinform readers about this?

Antivaxers like "Anonymous" have trouble explaining why the incidence of so many infectious diseases plummeted after introduction of corresponding vaccines, so they make up outrageous nonsense. Example: the book tries to get us to believe that polio is caused by pesticides. Yet it should be obvious that while pesticide use has continued and increased in the U.S. and around the world, polio cases have declined dramatically in concert with vaccination campaigns.

There's plenty more straight out of the antivaccine playbook - bogus VAERS claims, the "10,000 vaccines" canard, etc. etc., which have been repeatedly endlessly online and in similar books that have sunk into deserved obscurity.

Weakening childhood vaccination means exposing kids to more outbreaks of serious and potentially deadly diseases, like measles and polio (currently posing increasing risks due to declining vaccination rates).

Anonymous should come out of the woodwork to explain why he/she thinks this is a good idea.

Science-Based Medicine has begun a series examining claims made in "Turtles All The Way Down". It makes worthwhile reading.

"This first chapter tried to explain how vaccine clinical trials are “turtles all the way down” – a phrase meaning based on a very shaky foundation. But the authors did an incredibly poor job of making their case, from not even being able to follow their own rules, to creating clearly impossible demands, to forgetting the rules of even very simple fact checking, to at times making interpretations that are entirely contrary to acceptable scientific practices."

*The title of this book suggests yet another example of projection by antivaxers. They've pulled their heads into their shells, refusing to acknowledge the vast body of evidence validating the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

If this book would have been written before my kids were born, I would have definitely refused some of the unnecessary vaccines they received. Thank God they weren’t vaccine injured, at least as far as I know. I hope parents will read this book to become more informed about the vaccine industry.

Before reading this book, I was undecided whether vaccines in general (not just the COVID vaccines) were to blame for serious side effects and whether at least some of them were worth getting.
I was stunned by the case laid out in this well-written book loaded with citations. Turtles turned every understanding I'd had about vaccines on its head.
Turtles All the Way Down is vital reading for everyone considering getting a vaccine for themselves, or especially, for their children.
It is essential reading for every doctor, every medical student, and every pre-med student. I would not consider any medical professional to be knowledgable of vaccine safety and effectiveness without doing so.
It begs the questions:
- Where's the debate on these life-changing issues?
- Where's the reasoned refutation of the many allegations made in this book?
I hear only...silence.
Let's change that. Demand answers - or no more vaccines.

This title made no sense to me until shortly after starting the book. Throughout the book, the wise and judicious authors removed one turtle, then another. When finishing the book one has as many questions as answers, yet a much more straightforward direction in which to pursue truth.

Why did the authors start with a warning?

Why are the authors anonymous? A rather telling fact that questioning the "turtles" is career ending and quality of life disrupting.

Why revisit polio? For so much of the book! Just as 'Tobacco Science' purposefully asked misleading questions, so has the history of polio. The polio epidemic peeked the year I was born. I grew up hearing my Dad sing the praises of Jonas Salk. He was SO GRATEFUL they had found a cure, a preventative measure, for such a devastating disease. Or did we?

Quickly:
What are placeboes? (If you answered a benign or saline or another inert substance, nope.)
What happens to the long term statistics when the control group receives the independent variable after a few weeks?
Is 'Herd Immunity' a real thing? Do healthy people make us sick?

The book is definitely a worthwhile read. Or skim, if the circular logic of vaccine science makes you nauseous. My hat is off to the authors, whoever they may be.
