Expanding upon the wealth of illustrations and information that have made this title a classic, this Fourth Edition provides expanded and updated coverage of drawing materials, multiview drawings, paraline drawings, and perspective drawings. Also new to this edition is the author's unique incorporation of digital technology into his successful methods. Frank (Francis D. K.) Ching (born 1943) is a widely recognized author of books addressing architectural and design graphics. Ching's books have been widely influential and continue to shape the visual language of all fields of design. He is a Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington.
There should be a required reading list for architectural studies that include Pr. Ching's books. I found them by far the best books for initiation to architectural graphics, drawings, composition, building codes, architectural history... He wrote some 15 books, that so far I've found super useful and concise.

Francis D.K. Ching’s *Architectural Graphics* is an essential guide for anyone studying architecture, offering clear, comprehensive instruction on the techniques and principles of architectural drawing. It should be an obligatory read in architecture school, as it provides the foundation for understanding and communicating design ideas with precision and clarity.
I read the parts I was assigned necessary to draft buildings. Includes the needed materials, perspectives, rendering (I didn't read that part), presentations, and free hand (as opposed to using a ruler and such architect tools). Many drawn pictures, examples, and shading. Seems like it includes all the basic techniques you need to draw buildings from different angles. I've used it as a reference many times.
A classic by Ching, used by architecture students through the decades, it seems. Manual drafting techniques are essential, and a good architect, although well versed in CAD, can't succeed without learning the tips and tricks Ching offers throughout Architectural Graphics.
If you want to learn about architectural drafting then this book is a great place to start. It has a constructed cruclium which is very useful for Architects and students of Architecture. It shows how to handle drawing perspectives easily with different views and ways of drafting.

O livro é muito bom, explica todos os detalhes de representação gráfica, só que o ruim é que essa nova edição tem mais de 20 páginas cortadas e apresenta alguns erros de ortografia 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
