Whiteshift: Populism, Immigration and the Future of White Majorities Hardcover – October 25, 2018

4.3 out of 5 stars 84 ratings

Across the West, anti-immigration populists are tearing a path through the usual politics of left and right. Immigration is remaking Europe and North America: over half of American babies are non-white, and by the end of the century, minorities and those of mixed race are projected to form the majority in many countries.

Drawing on an extraordinary range of surveys,
Whiteshift explores the majority response to ethnic change in Western Europe, North America and Australasia. Eric Kaufmann, a leading expert on immigration, calls for us to move beyond empty talk about national identity and open up debate about the future of white majorities. He argues that we must ditch the 'diversity myth' that whites will dwindle, replacing it with whiteshift - a new story of majority transformation that can help lift anxieties and heal today's widening political divisions.

A bold, original work,
Whiteshift will redefine the way we think about ethnic diversity and populism.

Essentially the author admits that White Genocide (or as the liberal media prefers to call it "the great replacement") is happening but it's an "accident" that he doesn't want corrected. His main point is that Whites should (and will) eventually accept a brown mixed race Europe/America as white, therefore forcing whites into genocide is acceptable. This relies on the assumption that non-White immigration will STOP when the UN and EU both say that it will only grow. He fails to mention anything about FORCED integration & assimilation as it is a human rights violation that is currently being forced on to the indigenous Europeans. He tries to misdirect the readers into believing that the integration & assimilation is voluntary when it is not, Whites have NO OPTION of escape, it is FORCED on to them by law.

5.0 out of 5 stars should be read and considered by everyone who counts themself responsible and informed

If you are going to write something as explosive as predicting minority “white” population in Western Europe and the US, you have to be thorough in your research, very careful with every word you wrote and impeccably rooted in objective and well reasoned analysis. So, over 600 pages is inevitable. I have read it twice and heard the author speak twice, including under threat of disruption from what is sadly becoming acceptable behaviour amongst some academics and students. The accusations are unfounded. The messenger is not lamenting the passing of white numerical / power dominance. He is calling it out, as a scholar should, and commenting on the waves this creates. It’s a ground breaking work that deserves the highest praise and should be read and considered by everyone who counts themself responsible and informed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Whiteshift
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on May 7, 2021
I found the author's approach admirably, and refreshingly balanced; we need more books like this particularly as the issue is going to be one of the two most important of the twenty-first century (the other of course is global warming). Kaufman deserves a medal simply for having raised it. He is quite right to draw a distinction between wanting one's own ethnic group to remain the majority in one's home country, which is understandable because minorities are vulnerable and because of the culture shock demographic change can bring and which may be traumatic, and having an EXCLUSIVE preference for it which leads one to try and keep the "other" out altogether and to seek absolute racial purity (you can't come between two human beings who love each other). He differentiates between the more forgiveable objections to multiculturalism and genuinely racist comments such as those from the woman who finds the items peddled by Asian market stallholders objectionable purely because they are "strange" and "odd" (meaning they are different). He touches on plenty of unpleasant home truths that politically correct people won't confront, e.g. that whites can be castigated for things that would be acceptable in a nonwhite, and that it is not racist in itself for them to have pride in their own ethnic identity. He at least hints at other important points such as that political correctionists, unwilling to modify their worldview, are led to look for prejudice under the bed, and the current preoccupation with "unconscious" racism may be an example of this. Also, when whites are sufficiently reduced in numbers it will be easier to victimise them on account of their imperialist forefathers. But this does draw attention to one of the book's most serious flaws; there should have been more exploration of the issues and less of the statistics. Obviously, a situation where whites accepted a new definition of "whiteness", which involved diluting their genes on a much bigger scale even than is already happening but otherwise preserved their identity, would be better than serious civil unrest or some kind of segregation. We can but hope, I guess. But it occurs to me Kaufman may be too optimistic about its chances. The whites are the only one of the world's major races who will have to do this in quite the way suggested - blacks, and certainly Chinese, won't because of their numbers. It doesn't seem fair, and thoughts to that effect may well stiffen white resistance to inter-marriage. Secondly, I'm not convinced whites would actually benefit in terms of identity from the admixture because in my experience it is at least as common - if not much more so - for mixed-raced children to identify a black (it has been a long-standing grievance of whites that anybody who doesn't have two white parents and is therefore a little on the dark side is "black"). Barack Obama was presented as black by the liberal media even though he never considered himself as anything other than white, having been brought up by them. Additionally, will we be prepared to accept the disappearance (or almost so) of genetic features such as blonde hair which are considered cultural icons, with genetic engineering not, for better or worse, regarded as an option? (On the subject of blondes, I know it isn't real anyway a lot of the time but let's face it, we prefer it when is don't we, and so won't want it to become even rarer). There's too much uncertainty regarding this or that, especially when factors other than race operate. Religion could serve as a unifying factor (unfortunately Kaufman subscribes to the standard notion that it's a human construct which "evolved" as a form of social control, whereas it's best viewed as a belief, which you may or may not subscribe to, that there has been a revelation from God. Finally, the book exhibits too much of the kind of terminology which mars a good deal of academic (and other kinds of) literature nowadays. I know it's only one word, and that I may therefore seem a trifle pedantic in the matter, but why say "select for" rather than just "select" a university to study at?
