An excellent survey of "artificial-life art" - art based on self-organization, emergence, algorithms, evolution, artificial intelligence, etc.

This book gives a sound overview of art and artificial life, mostly from the art perspective and for an art (rather than science) oriented audience. It has enough depth to be academically interesting, but is accessible to a broader audience.
