3.5 ⭐️ I definitely enjoyed this book. Loved her outlook on entrepreneurship and all her tips on being “chill” in your business. I felt her tips we tangible, especially for those just starting off. I personally didn’t feel like I learned many new concepts, but appreciated her reaffirming that you don’t have to hustle yourself into the ground in your business. I also really loved how she had the free downloadable resources that coincided with the book. Not just as a reader, but from one author/entrepreneur to another I loved how she was able to get her own readers over to her email list - genius!
The only reason this wasn’t a 4 or higher for me was because there were SO many testimonials embedded into this book that it made it almost confusing at times (especially listening to the audio book). I’m not knocking her for shamelessly plugging away at her own client wins (plug away girl! 👏🏼) but hearing so many other peoples wins was confusing to listen too and started to lose me a lot of the time.
A very light hearted and chill read. DDT makes everything easy to digest and I appreciate that she writes the same way she talks. This is the second book I’ve read from her and her consistency as an author is very exciting. Love this book
I loved his book though it took a little while to get into.at first I thought that it wasn’t for me because Denise DT Is so successful though I also love how down to earth she is.
I’ve heard that this is a rewrite of a previous book though I hadn’t read the earlier book.
Also I listened to it on Sudivle and find her very easily to listen to.
Dare I say this is one of my favourite money mindset books that I have read to date? I love the authors writing style - its like speaking to a friend that is witty, to the point and no nonsense. The book gave me a plethora of great takeaways and small aha moments. Its jam packed with value as well as practical tips - all coming back to mindset, valuing yourself and taking the path of least resistance. And the reminder that certain awkward situations in business are just a right of passage was certainly refreshing. The bonuses are great too - how to make awkward money conversations easy? Yes, please. It was so refreshing not to be reading some sleazy extended sales pitch for their more expensive product in book format - yes her main product is mentioned, but by that time you are already drowning in practical value and takealways you can implement from the book alone. I will definitely be checking out more of the author's work and rereading this book to make all the notes and reminders for myself. There is an easier way to do life and business and this book will give you great tips on where to start!
Great business advice Having started and closed many businesses in my life for a variety of reasons. The information contained in this would have been great advice to have when I started. If you’re looking for someone who is going to coddle you or keep from offending you go somewhere else. Had I read this book in the beginning I would have only had two businesses instead of many. As you go through this book you will get real advice in a very blunt and open format which caused me to realize where I’m failing. I needed to stop and take a serious look at what I’m doing because I need to pivot or never get going. As the author talks about something in the book don’t hesitate to pause and write down notes. I go through a book from start to finish and take notes to come back to later with the place in the book. The second time is my time to really learn. A college professor told me to read a book. Wait a week and read it again, then in three, six and 12 months. If you do this you will get the most out of a book or whatever you are working on learning.
Enjoyable read and some overall good messages and points.
I particularly liked the reference to the witch wound and the golden goose concepts.
One frustrating thing was the very significant number of quotes from clients and random comments to validate/reiterate or even fully present certain points. It would've been more interesting for the author to further develop her arguments with her own voice instead.
I preferred her other book too which I found a bit more captivating.
Like she says though, there will always be something someone doesn't like about you and that's fine. I appreciate her contagious positive attitude.
Loved the book! I listened to the audiobook. Her personality is very up my alley and was relatable and authentic. I liked that she wasn’t afraid of some mild swearing and was self deprecating at times. The ideas on mindset are perfect for entrepreneurs, especially women that are often left out of business and financial conversations.
The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was there were many testimonials, which were awesome, but they were testimonials for the book. How can there be a testimonial for the book, within the book???
It's a business book that goes against other business books. You don't need to work yourself into the ground and be perfect. Just chill and prosper. I loved DDT's writing style ; it felt like I was just listening to a friend talk. She is unapologetically a lazy self-made millionaire, but she has some practical and simple advice to just chill out, focus on some key things, and believe in yourself. I didn't sit and take notes or have specific takeaways, but it did get me thinking and I'll probably go back and read some chapters once those thoughts have had a chance to marinate.
I am a long-time fan of Denise, so I am not surprised that I loved her book so much. It is chock full of incredible mindset tips to change the way you look at marketing, and they're all "easy." She calls herself a lazy millionaire, so the techniques she teaches are easy, but you still need to do them, which can be the hard part. I got quite a lot out of this book and am feeling very inspired after reading!!
After reading We Should All Be Millionaires and finding it inspiring, I picked up this title which was mentioned in the book. It’s not quite as inspiring and there’s a good amount of repeat info, but there were definitely some great morsels I took away about not just how to create a successful business but also a way of thinking about making your day to day life easier and eliminating obstacles.
This is an updated version of Denise's previous book, Chillpreneur. I enjoyed the updated and going through the info again, but don't love paying twice for the same info, and I already own Chillpreneur. One thing that doesn't resonate with me is Denise's writing is primarily targeted towards women with service-based businesses and clients. I have a product-based business so I don't feel like she is speaking to me in quite the same way, there's still a lot of great takeaways though.
Fare business non deve essere per forza spaventoso e fonte di ansia. You can just find the pathway of least resistance.
This was excellent. Business books (at least in my experience so far) tend to be stuffy and repetitive. I felt like there were so many useful nuggets throughout this entire book. The author seems like she actually "gets it" and therefore the info actually felt applicable. By far the best business book I've read so far. (Thanks biz bestie!)
If you have a business, are just getting started, are well on your way, or are even thinking about starting a business, you MUST read this book. There are very few books of the 100+ I read each year that I deem are a must read (seriously, like 2 or 3). If you're an entrepreneur, this is one of them.
Learn how to do business YOUR way, successfully, & without burning out. Denise gives you permission to be Chill about it all. And still Prosper. 🪄✨️💰
Not only was it so motivating, but there were actual business takeaways about marketing and entrepreneurship. Highly recommend. I will have to go back and read all the sections I highlighted!
A lot of the examples are service-based, but WOW was it eye-opening when thinking about how I’ve created roadblocks for myself and how I can overcome them and start owning my business and my expertise.
Listened to the audiobook of this at Jamie's recommendation - I was already familiar with Denise DT but hadn't listened to or read any of her books. All in all this was a good reminder to slow down and build a business that serves *you*.
More useful to women who have a business that they want to tweak. A bit too much self promotion and pyramid scheme feelings for my taste. However there are some useful gems in here about starting, money beliefs, and marketing.
Brilliant book that breaks down common money blocks and how to build a business that nurtures self and others for a sustainable future. Keeps you laughing, pondering and learning till the end.
I listened Audible and Denise performed very well. Great storytelling with real cases - Many people can surely relate to what she said. Very inspiring for entrepreneurs!
This book is packed full of helpful tips, strategies and done for you scripts. Will be invaluable. Audio book really nice to listen to, full of personality
