"As long as you don't walk away from God, as long as your complaining and being upset and still talking to Him. That shows that you love him for his self alone and not just for the good things he's given you. An adult woman who had a verbally abusive father, told me this. She said to her father, I'm going to call you every Tuesday night, because you're my dad. If you abuse me, I'm not going to tell you stop it or get angry, I'm going to hang up. And then I'm going to call you back next week because I'm not mad at you. I'm just trying to help you and its not right for you to do that. 3-4 weeks in a row, her dad did it and she hung up, and eventually, it changed him. If you want a reconciled relationship, the other side has to repent. If a person doesn't make any changes, you don't have trust them and get back in relationship." - Tim Keller
