I want to recommend a book that is about bitcoin, but was actually written before bitcoin came on the scene, that is called "The Ethics of Money Production". I think that is one of the most important books that you can read to understand what is really going on.

It is literally a fiat idea. It forces people to accept the inferior 'paper' substitute at the same price as the legit money. This causes a 'race to the bottom'. Fantastic explanation in this book
