I recommend the book Difficult Conversations. I found it very helpful. Not about race at all, just any discussion where feelings run hot. Sounds like you’re trying to stick to the facts with something that’s inherently emotional (ie feelings about other people’s suffering).

I also wanted to highlight Difficult Conversations, which is actually the book I recommend to people most. It provides a phenomenal framework for improving your relationships and communication and practical strategies to put it into action.
