Brilliant analysis by @CosmicSkeptic. I don't believe that there's a hierarchy of values. Nor that, as far as you're concerned your theory is reality. Just a guess. I agree with Popper that a scientist should not believe his theories. I try not to believe anything of course.
Come to think of it, the morality and psychology of essentially that situation are explored in Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. Brilliant book. One of very few pessimistic books I'd recommend. Harrowing yet thought-provoking. Like Nineteen Eighty-Four.
Strangely enough I hadn't heard of this until today. Looks promising:
A tour de force by Popper. [link] And by Brett. Now that I've watched a number of these, greatly outnumbering what I've heard by other Australians, the neural net within me keeps telling me to expect everything said in an Australian accent to be a deep truth.
Yes indeed. Several very interesting issues covered. I'm glad there's another IRL Tony Stark in the world. I don't agree that people following dreams they 'don't have the skills for' is a bigger problem than people not following dreams they should. Most of the rest, I agree with.
