Good piece explaining that the central banks didn't see the bout of inflation because they didn't understand money.

Interesting paper suggesting the wave of early retirements was due to boomers experiencing huge home price appreciation. They thus felt wealthy enough to not work anymore.

Highly recommend this great post by @EtraAlex and @Brad_Setser on the change in appetite of Japanese investors for foreign bonds. They have been a huge buyer for years, but seem to be moving away. This has huge implications for all asset classes.

Nobody signaled the Fed would 'pivot.' You guys need to read beyond headlines. @NickTimiraos's excellent article illustrated the debate within the Fed, and also suggested that some favored continued big increases. IMO this context is very helpful.

Really enjoyed this well written and meticulously researched book by @NickTimiraos on Fed history and recent actions. It's full of insights (Fed was thinking of bailing out open ended mutual funds!) and interesting portraits (Powell is on twitter!)
