Shubham Toshniwal

Shubham is a research scientist at Facebook AI Research (FAIR). His research focuses primarily on natural language understanding with particular interest in building long-context models and exploring the limits of self-supervised learning.

Prior to FAIR, Shubham received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from TTI Chicago in 2022 under the supervision of Kevin Gimpel and Karen Livescu. During his Ph.D., he did internships at Google Research NYC and Google Research SF. Before doing his Ph.D., he spent two years at IBM Research India working on IBM Watson related research. He received his B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2013.
