Associate professor in Philosophy and Research Fellow at the Global Priorities Institute at the University of Oxford. Director of the Forethought Foundation for Global Priorities Research. Co-founder of Giving What We Can, the Centre for Effective Altruism, and 80,000 Hours. Recently the World Bank announced a new pandemic prevention fund. While this is very welcome news, the $1.4 billion committed to the fund so far is a long way from its goal of $10b. This is just one example of underfunding of pandemic prevention. 1/1
