Just finished 'The Collected Schizophrenias' by Esmé Weijun Wang last night. A moving, multifaceted memoir of mental illness. Highly recommended!

Some of my interest in these topics was spurred by the excellent book 'Logiciel' by @cavvia. I organized a discussion on the book with some friends. Here's the last session, which summarizes the key ideas.

Learning about HoTT brings one in contact with some very interesting, though technical, aspects of semantics. I highly recommend this paper by Per Martin-Löf: 'On the Meanings of the Logical Constants and the Justifications of the logical laws'

VALIS is one of my favorite books. I use the word for a specific type of coincidence/synchronicity now.

Watching a very nice talk by VS Ramachandran. Among other things he talks about synaesthesia.

Very interesting essay! Not entirely sure I understand your position on emergence and reductionism, but I don't think reductionism is just a liberal projection or oversimplification: I encounter reductionist scientists too often for that. :)
